About us

Expertise & know-how

ANSERS, acronym for ANalytical SERviceS, offers extensive knowledge in the fields of analytical chemistry, physical testing and polymer chemistry. Our focused range of analyses and our technical consultancy are based on long standing and well established relations with the plastics and polymer industries. Formerly, we were part of Shell global solutions. This strong integration enabled us to construct the solid bases of our present variety of scientific skills and techniques.

Our history

Division of Shell Chemicals

Before 2008
For many years, we have been a Belgian, Louvain-la-Neuve based, analytical chemistry and physical testing division of Shell Chemicals and Shell Global Solutions.

Since more than a decade we have broadened our horizon and have been working in close collaboration with a series of multinationals, including Hexion, Kraton Polymers and LyondellBasell Industries.

By mid 2007 Shell Global Solutions started the phasing out of its activities in Louvain-la-Neuve.

Creation of ANSERS

End 2008
Creation of ANSERS, which meant that the continuation of providing first class analytical services could be secured. This has been the case ever since.

ISO9001

End 2008
Ansers took over the ISO9001 quality label from Shell’s analytical services.

Our team

Marijke Slabbinck

Mrs Slabbinck is the founder and CEO of Ansers. She gained her expertise during her career as employee of Shell in the analytical department. Thanks to the many technical discussions she had with her colleagues in the product groups, she did not only learn the various analytical techniques but obtained an in-depth knowledge on different types of polymers, on processing, polymer additives, properties, etc…

Ilse Hupko

Industrial engineer in chemistry, Mrs Hupko joined Ansers in 2017 as project manager. She’s an ex Shell colleague of Marijke of the analytical department with broad experience in polymer research and identification/quantitation of resins and additives. She has a long-standing knowhow on microscopy and spectroscopic techniques (FTIR, UV-VIS).

Christelle Bar

Industrial engineer in chemistry, Christelle worked for 11 years in the field of polymers in the analytical chemistry and mechanical testing department of the Shell Research Centre. She then integrated, for several years, a structure to support companies in their technological innovation projects. Christelle joined the Ansers team in June 2021. In addition to her role as quality coordinator, she manages analytical projects.
